About Me
I'm Rebecca, a psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience working with adults in both NHS and private settings. Alongside my NHS role, I offer private online therapy, with a specialist focus on psychosexual and relationship work.
I support individuals and couples with a range of concerns, including intimacy and sexual wellbeing, trauma, anxiety, low mood, and relationship difficulties. My approach is steady, trauma-informed, and grounded in evidence-based practice. I work with people from diverse cultural, religious, and ethnic backgrounds, including same-sex relationships, and aim to offer a calm, confidential space where therapy can unfold at a pace that feels manageable.
My specialist training is in psychosexual therapy, and I also draw on integrative counselling, CBT, and EMDR where clinically appropriate. Therapy is not one-size-fits-all. It is collaborative, shaped around you, your needs, and what feels most helpful at that point in time.
The therapeutic relationship is central to meaningful change. I aim to create a space that feels safe, grounded, and non-judgemental, while also being honest and direct. I don't tend to dance around things when clarity is what's needed. I work from the belief that each person is the expert in their own life, and I bring clinical training, evidence-based interventions, and a steady presence to support that process.
Before training as a psychotherapist, I worked in the beauty industry and later moved into sales and commercial roles. Those experiences gave me a grounded understanding of people, communication, and the many ways we adapt and cope across different environments.
In my early twenties, a period of significant personal challenge led me to seek therapy myself. That experience was pivotal. Therapy didn't simply help me through a difficult time. It changed the direction of my life. I still carry something a therapist once said to me when I shared that I admired their work: "Rebecca, you can do anything you want to, if you want it enough."
That moment stayed with me and ultimately shaped my decision to train as a therapist. It continues to inform how I work, holding belief in people's capacity for change, even when things feel stuck or uncertain.
Alongside my clinical work, I also work as a freelance tutor, supporting qualified therapists undertaking postgraduate training in psychosexual therapy. This work is entirely separate from my therapy practice.
